Help & FAQ

Getting started

How do I install it?
It's a web app — no app store needed. Open the app, then:
Android (Chrome): menu ⋮ → Install app / Add to Home screen.
iPhone (Safari): Share → Add to Home Screen.
Computer (Chrome/Edge): click the install icon in the address bar.
It then opens like a normal app and works offline.
Do I need an account or internet?
No account, and no internet after it loads once. Everything runs on your device.
Switching from another invoicing app? Can I bring my data?
Almost always, yes — two ways:
Database backup (.db): if your old app makes a .db backup file, go to Settings → Import backup and pick it. Supported legacy databases load in one tap — customers, items, invoices and history, instantly.
CSV mapping: export customers/items from any app or spreadsheet as CSV, then use Settings → CSV import. You match the columns once and it pulls everything in.
Not sure if your old app's file will work? Email a sample and we'll check it for you.
Starting fresh?
Tap Start fresh on the welcome screen. It sets up payment terms, payment methods, invoice numbering and a sample invoice so you're not staring at blank screens. Add your company in Settings → Company profile, then make your first invoice from Home → Invoices → +.

Your data & backups

Where is my data stored?
On your device, in a single SQLite database you own — not on our servers. We can't see it, sell it, or lose it. That also means backups are your responsibility, and we make that easy:
How do I back up?
Two ways, use either or both:
• Settings → Sync & Backup → connect your own Dropbox or Google Drive — it keeps a synced copy automatically and across your devices.
• Settings → Backup / Export .db → saves a file you can keep anywhere. Do this weekly; the app reminds you after 7 days.
How do I restore or move to a new phone?
Install the app on the new device → Settings → Import .db → pick your latest backup (or reconnect the same Dropbox/Drive folder). One tap, everything's back.
iPhone users, important: if you don't open the app for about 7 days, iOS can clear browser-stored data. Connect Sync or export a backup so a restore is one tap — don't rely on the on-device copy alone.

Cost & support

What does it cost?
Nothing during the beta. Mobile Office is free for testing — every feature, unlimited invoices, no card, no account, nothing to unlock. Email support during the beta: 24–48h, business days. If paid tiers are introduced later we will announce it before anything changes.
Refunds?
The app is free during the beta, so there is nothing to refund. See the refund policy.
How do I get help?
Email support@faultexpert.com — you're talking to the field tech who built it and invoices his own jobs with it. Target reply time: 24–48 hours (business days).
